Pen-Yr-Orsedd is home to the last standing blondin winder in Wales so its worth a visit just to see that! Theres quite a few winder buildings that would of controlled the blondin lift mechanisms then a large mill on the mid lever and a smaller older mill at the base of the quarry with a few old...
Cocking Lime Works and Quarry, Cocking, West Sussex - June 2022
Nice and easy explore this one (assuming you take a look at a map rather than brazenly striding away from the path as we did), with a pleasant selection of cable elevators in the chalk and the main crusher/kilns also relatively...
Bit of a random one this which turned out to make for a decent mooch, not the most historic or interesting but a bit of industry not usually seen nonetheless. It involved a spontaneous trip to see the Rainham ROC post, to find it locked. The ROC post closed in 1991 and fell on the site of a...

I'm not too sure on the exact history, but the article I read said that where the reservoir is there actually used to be 3 more buildings. The site was opened in the 1930's and was used to mine gravel and was open until around the late 1990s/2000s.

I thought I pretty much knew all my local urbex locations but imagine my surprise as I was passing to realise I'd completely missed this place! I was shown around briefly and returned this morning with a "proper" camera and tripod.
I would imagine this place has been done to death by others in...
Took a drive up in my bike, after looking at other reports I was expecting buildings of some sort. Sadly i was dissapointed. As all the buildings had been demolished leaving only the odd shack.
Not entirely sure about the history on this but I presume it was an gravel quarry of sorts or lime?
Introduction
This is a very local place to me, I’ve known about it for years and have visited a few times, but decided to finally take the camera here and post a proper report with some detailed history I found thanks to a local history group on Facebook.

We haven't posted much for the last couple of weeks due to real life getting in the way, namely my van engine deciding to catastrophically give up on life along with having loads on at work but managed to get it all sorted it out in time for this visit. We visited this place for the first time...
This has been covered a few times and isn't the most epic explore but we went for a look while we were exploring mines and quarries around the Bolton area as this is just up the road.
History - Round Barn Quarry initially started off as a much smaller stone delf that occupied the western half...
This place has been covered loads of times (most recently in an excellent report by @HughieD ) but we've always thought it looked awesome and wanted to check it out. We had a full days childcare so thought we would do the 2 and a half hour drive down and check it out. This is by no means a...
We have been visiting the Llyn Peninsula for many years for surfing and have seen this place on the way in many times. We've always wondered what it was and decided to check it out. Turns out its been covered a few times.
History - The Trefor granite quarry (also known as the Yr Eifl quarry)...
History - There isn't a lot of history available for this place. From what we can find online the quarry has been used for mineral extraction since at least 1877 up until 2014. There were plans to build houses on the site but it seems this has now fallen through. The latest plans are to re-open...

Myself(Holly) and John went and explored this abandoned warehouse/quarry that we fount while researching on Google Maps today, so we decided to go and take a look and it was infact local to us, which was even more better. When we got there, it was trashed and graffitied really badly by...
I didn't have much hope in this explore prior to turning up...wasn't even sure I'd be able to get in at one point - but this one turned out to be a pearler! Probably the best one I have done in a while...but fiiiirst, a little background.

Hey! I’m new here and just wanted to share my first explore. I’m based in Hampshire/Wiltshire/new forest and have lots of locations on my list to explore so expect more posts in the near future. Couldn’t find any info here on this one so apologies if it’s been done to death already.

First report for 28DL, I hope you guys enjoy/find some use of it. Haven't been doing much in the way or Urbex the last year or so and decided to ease myself back in with a nice stress-free explore local(ish) to me.
Before we start apologies for the poor picture quality, I only use my phone...
First post on here. I know this has been done a few times and this isn't my first visit here, but it was a cold foggy day I was bored and wanted get a bit of content up and this is local to me. Maenofferen state mine is now a derelict site. The quarry was opened a short time after 1800 and was...

The pictures i had seen of the remnants of the aerial ropeway got me really interested in this on however i had no idea quite what a climb it was to the top. We had to chuckle as 2 people in full hiking gear with poles passed us in wellies and waders. I was pleased to be wearing my cheap as...
