240 Blackfriars
Visited with members Markymark and Chaos
240 Blackfriars Road is the next major development in the continued regeneration of London's South Bank. New developments are in the pipeline including the long overdue redevelopment of Kings Reach Tower and a new tower block that has yet to begin between Kings Reach and 240 Blackfriars.
The 22,000 square metre development will provide 20,100 square metres of offices, street level retail units and residential space in ten private apartments in adjacent buildings.
Friday was slow!... even more so considering we'd made plans for the weekend to make our way to London the week previously to visit a site or two. On the list was 240 Blackfriars, after a bit of a fail and a rather random encounter with some other explorers nearby we headed off and jumped on the tube to the South Bank to this location. It was still light but pushing close to the dark hours so sat it out, Chaos took a mooch down and scoped it out while I took a Red Bull induced piss in 'Dog Tits' (or so I though it was called when I saw it on our approach).
We had a wander down and scaled the bits we needed to to get up to the top, with a bit of a cheeky quad and lung busting stairwell we were up. We had a walk about and saw a few fresh wet footprints kicking about in the light near the lift so we headed up even further and got out of sight. We wen't off on our own ways and captured the pictures we were after.
Little bit of a 'breeze' up there!
