We hit this one before sunset, one of the advantages of summer. I always find watching the sun set over London an awe-inspiring event. Not to mention the fact dusk can often give urban landscapes some pretty stunning colours.
Pretty scary moment when I dropped my wide-lens extension which bounced on the floor, then bounced off again dangerously close to the edge before inevitably free-falling down to a lower level at least 5-7 metres below. I didn’t rush down fast, I assumed the extension was fucked and I’d have to shell out another £120 or so. There was no point rushing after it. I was glad it hadn’t fallen on One Flew East’s head, who was on the lower level at the time! He was the one who picked it up, brought it to me, and pointed out that the lens itself looked perfectly fine, and I might be able to get away with changing just the tube.
Sure enough 3 days later I had a new extension tube which I paid just £15 off the internet! Niiiice.
