Been meaning to post these for ages, but only just got round to it!
Earlier this year I decided to go to Madrid for the Champions League final, and turned it into a 2 week road trip in my campervan, exploring a lot of Spain. On the way home I came across this place, finding it totally by accident - I decided to take what looked like an interesting road instead of staying on the motorway, and literally saw it within 2 minutes.
It looks like a small castle, but I think it was just a grand house. It is right beside an abandoned power station (tried desperately to get in but not a chance) and there were some derelict office and accommodation blocks a little further down the road (the last 6i photos), so I assume it was something to do with that.
I've looked for some history of the building, but couldn't find anything. Interestingly, the abandoned power station is now used as a theme park at Halloween - Horrorland. Have to admit to not sleeping well in the van that night when I parked for the night down the road and Facebook told me Horrorland was less than 1km away
Having decided to explore the "castle", I pulled to the side of the road behind a small van, and considered that it might belong to security. I needn't have worried, as it turned out that the building was a target for graffiti artists, and there were a few inside as I wandered around, and some of the graffiti is incredible!
The building structure is in good condition, certainly better than the office/accommodation blocks up the road, so I was very happy with this little find.
