Copied from Essex live..
A graveyard of abandoned planes lies hidden away between an Essex hotel and an airport.
Just a few hundred metres away from London Southend Airport is the Skylark Hotel, along Aviation Way.
The Hotel owns a section of land which boarders the airport, which is overgrown and littered with abandoned planes. The large metal 'birds' could date back to the 1950's.
This is everything we know about the plane graveyard:
Where is it?Three planes can be seen using Google maps satellite view on Aviation Way, Southend-on-Sea
The area of land behind the Skylark Hotel has been left untouched for a number of years, and as a result the planes have been almost taken over by the overgrown vegitation.
When looking on Google there appears to be three planes, two larger planes, which look similar to passenger planes you would see today and a smaller one, which looks as if it may have been a private plane carrying less people.
THE EXPLORE-
The access was pretty easy we arrived right next to the place, and was about to jump the fence but a group of people bolted the lock off while we was standing there
Anyway.. got into the planes got lots of photos of inside. The planes were pretty empty but still interesting.
We was undisturbed for ages everyone else left. There was loads of others there. After around a hour, we was approached by three security telling us to get out. We didn’t believe them to begin with and told one of them to go away they tried making us exit out of a plane window so we got out the other side (all windows and doors open on one of the planes)after getting out of the plane and walking towards the exit We told them we was leaving although one of the blokes who was security was very drunk and aggressive and started grabbing hold of my friends they even grabbed hold of me when they couldn’t get to them long story short after a few punches thrown about we exited and left
Sorry it’s not very detailed it’s quite late I just wanted to leave a quick report.
If you go there be careful.
