Alien Works

Well known place this but its rather tasty.
This was my second ever EU explore so was a bit of a undertaking on my own, bug thanks to @Grom & @The_Raw for some intel, the visit pretty much went like clockwork.
Looking at a 2015 report Im surprised but pleased to see some graffiti has been removed / painted over once again giving the place a clean look.

The Alienworks is a small power plant on the site of an abandoned steel works in France.
The site was constructed in the 1890's production peak it produced 400,000 tonnes of cast iron per annum and employed near on 3000 people.
All operations ceased here in 1991. Probably due to local competition and the cheap production in the Far East.

The power plant was part of a once huge and very busy iron works. Most of the site has now been demolished or redeveloped, but the power station remains, along with one blast furnace that is now used as museum.

Iv got a lot of pics again Im afraid so will now try to do this in some sort of order.

Starting in the boiler room lots of nice pipework

Nice Jaeger gauge

Through a convenient link tunnel to the turbine hall

Small side room greets you first

Dropping down below the turbines reveals more pipe goodness

Back up the main floor is littered with control panels

Quick nosey in the overhead crane

Finally up the sweeping stairs to the mezzanine which houses the main control panels & gives striking views over the turbines

I honest think its better now, quite a bit of graff in the below that has now gone.
It's a rare thing that a bando gets the cleaning treatment but someone is clearly looking after it

Alienworks – Abandoned Power Plant, France

A small power plant with five old, well preserved turbines. Dating back to the 1930, the plant was part of a large iron works site.
