History ( copied from couple of other sites)
Glazed brick manufacturers established by Henry Victor Allen (1887-1960), when he took over the Halifax Glazed Brickworks in 1905 in the Walterclough Valley. He converted the works to manufacture refractory bricks (glazed bricks able to withstand high temperatures, generally used to line kilns, furnaces and fireplaces etc). Their Selfrac bricks were world famous. It became a plastics factory in the 1960s before falling into ruin following some suspicious fires and then bankruptcy. Even as recently as ten years ago, photographs on Urbex sites show offices with files on the shelves.

“But definitely worth it, this place is like a little town. It goes on and on and on. Which was perfect. Graffiti covering almost every inch or brick ild advise wearing shades it's so colourful Some of this graffiti is up there with best art I've ever seen, so this is almost a abandoned museum of art. “

The Explore.
Do not approach from the south road neigh impassable nearly lost car in a ditch .
Easy parking and walk in available.
Quick approx 1 hour mooch round on a wet and misty day. The site is massive and you could spend all day at leisure,
Much has already been done so please forgive repetition.
If you like decay and the just left look this is one to miss. If you like grafitti, there are some Fine Artworks. Much of the brickwork is tagged to pieces and literally sprayed at random but within and if you keep looking there are gems.
