Hoping this is the right thread - a post today from Spitalfields Life about an old Steeplejack who worked before the days of all the Health and Safety regs.

i worked like that, 330 ft and on bad scaffolding..
hanging in ropes and no helmet or other rigging. my life on the ground is boring, i am missing the danger..
thanks for the share :-) brought back a lot of memories
