I'll start by stating this is far from an epic location. We noticed it was accessible while passing on the train and thought it looked like an interesting building. Sadly it's been completely blanked on the inside and no original features remain. Posting it mainly for the interest of anyone local who's ever wondered what it looks like inside.
History - Not a massive amount available on this place. It is grade 2 listed and was built in 1855 along with appley bridge train station for the station master. It sits on the Wigan to Southport line. Most recently it has been used as a bar and coffee shop until closing around 2015.
Explore - Access to this place is overlooked by both platforms so we had to visit at night. The pictures arent great due to it being dark but there's very little to see anyway.
The Station in the early 19th century.
Thanks for looking.
