Visited with Userscott, Gibbo, Lawrence and the drunk.
Well after a failed attempt at another site, which involved sailing across the canal in a dinghy only to find no access, we needed something decent to keep us occupied and having spotted what i thought was a route onto the arndale centre roof we decided to give it a go, first a bit of spiel for those of you that dont know what the arndale is.
Manchester Arndale (known locally as The Arndale Centre or just The Arndale) is a large shopping centre in Manchester City Centre in North West England. The centre was built during the 1970s, and was subsequently redeveloped after the Provisional Irish Republican Army bomb in 1996. Manchester Arndale is amongst the largest retail centres in the United Kingdom.
Whilst not massively high (apart from the office block at its heart, unfortunately unaccesible)the roof of this place is extensive, a ratrun of pipes and ventilators and unpleasant things designed to stop unwelcome visitors such as ourselves.
Over the main entrance, looking down market street, sorry the pics a bit dark but im too tired to edit.
Looking toward city tower.
The office block at the heart of the complex.
The CIS building
Funky lighting
Looking across the roof towards Beethams.
On the outside looking in
The wheel, urbis and the triangle
Urbis and the triangle again
The printworks and urbis.
