History
The site was used up until the 1960's to test naval shells, 20mm cannons as far as I can tell.
The guns / cannons were fired from one end of the range into the tunnels pictured below. They are actually only about 20-30 metres deep and were lined with railway sleepers to try to deaden the noise (although a lot of that has now been stripped out and removed, presumably sold).
There is also a raised walkway in the trees to the right of the two ranges which lead to several outbuildings some of which are pictured below also.
Since its closure it has been used for riot police training, dog training and is now used as an airsoft site by a friend of mine and also used by a company for team building.
