Ashcroft Hostel was first built for 22 people. It is a residential care home for people with mental health issues. It is near to the local community facilities, like shops and a library, and is on a bus route into Leicester City.
Ashcroft Hostel had 14 staff for up to 16 residents. It offered support to residents with mental health needs to help them become as independent as possible. This is called the rehabilitation service. People with mental health needs having a short break at the hostel.
