Aylesbury United are a football club based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, currently playing in the Spartan South Midlands League. They were evicted from their old Buckingham Rd ground in 2006, and currently are groundsharing at Leighton Town FC in nearby Leighton Buzzard. They have been as high as the Conference in the 1980s, have played full England team in a friendly in 1988 with a 6000 crowd and got to the 3rd Rd Proper of FA Cup in 1995 losing to QPR.
Visited on a freezing cold morning, the old ground is now in a sorry state, but made for a fascinating explore, especially as I love my football :
Hope some of you enjoy the pics
The old stadium:
Old tunstiles:
Old terrace behind the goal:
View of the "pitch" with floodlight in the background:
Home changing rooms:
The Press Box:
The main stand
Bizarrely, this was in the boardroom:
Pint glass left intact on the bar:
Kickers Bar, catchy name
Toilets could do with a clean:
Pristine copy of the 1997 Isthmian League Final - maybe worth a few bob to programme collectors:
The referee's a ******
