Beelitz Heilstätten
Visited with Humpa, wevsky, space-invader and urban ginger
Some basic history, built in 1898 the hospital complex contained around 60 buildings and was originally designed as a sanatorium, from the beginning of World War I it became a military hospital of the Imperial German Army, at the end of 1916 Adolf Hitler recuperated there after being wounded at the Battle of the Somme. After the war it was occupied by Soviets untill 1995 when attempts were made to privatize the complex, not entirely successful some of the hospital remained in operation and the majority was abandoned in 2000.
This place is huge and we spent most of the day walking around, sadly we didn't cover all of it due to having to rescue wevsky, space-invader and urban ginger after their slight lapse in concentration which resulted in them being stuck without a car
