HISTORY

Bethel Quarry has been around quite some time now, it was quarried out alot towards the end of the 19th century, then it was used in WW2 for storage. From my limited knowledge i believe the mine was used by Heinz and another company afterwards for growing Mushrooms (until 2010.) then was repurposed by 2 albanians, Alksander Shyti and Altin Deda for one of the UKs biggest cannabis grows, Speaking to some local friends i was told they caught from being too loud or dog walkers smelling cannabis.

MY TRIP

(First post)

I went to Bethel Quarry with 2 other friends as i wanted to see it with my own eyes and was astonished to see what terrible condition it had been left in by im assuming Fly tippers (found 2 leafblowers lol) and the lack of clear up by local police.

It feels quite big walking all around the place but fairly easy to navigate around, no need for a map. just be careful of where you walk as in some places there are mini "fertiliser" balls on the ground that are super easy to slip over on haha. Probably spent a little over an hour down there mainly spenty going round and round in circles trying the find the gym ! (never found it) but saw lots of other cool stuff. definintly want to go back there at some point.

I would reccomend bringing some sort of face mask/cover as the smell near the tents gets pretty awful, probably from mould and the fire from a few months back
