Been wanting to do this for ages now and must drive past it every day so thought it was about time. Picked Stealth up late at night and off we headed into the darkness. Lots of fun i must say from lying in the grass watching security drive past doing their patrols to the SAS style entrance onto the plane. All the window shutters are down in the plane so its ok once inside apart from the cockpit which we left til last and couldnt spent much time in as didnt want to get collared by airport secca lol.
Bit of history: This is a Boeing 747-200 built and delivered to Kuwait Airways in 1982. It is registered N309TD, a number it was assigned when it first came to Manston. It is currently owned by an American company who bought it for its scrap value. A search online revealed it was previously registered 9K-ADD, and was repeatedly leased to Garuda Indonesia Airways.
One of the old girl still in service
And some pics from our visit
And a few in the cockpit
And one on the way out
Thanks for looking
