BRIEF HISTORY
Bonny Street police station was built by Roger Booth in 1968. The last bespoke police station to be designed was Chorley in 1967, accompanied by a magistrate’s court, this station building was almost replicated at Bury and the court informed a very similar construction in Leyland. (apologies, I couldn’t find much else)
THE EXPLORE
Living locally, I’ve been round this building almost daily, but was hit with a stroke of luck. Access wasn’t easy, but possible, which I haven’t seen in years. The place was massive, 9 stories and I unfortunately didn’t explore the entire place fully as I was very unprepared, but didn’t want to pass up the opportunity as the entrance will be patched soon.
-
Apologies for the arguably bad photos, they were taken on my old IPhone, I unfortunately had nothing better to hand.
