This was a find by Dan, I think it was him as I lose track of who found what. Visited here on a glorious bank holiday weekend with two friends. A nice relaxed visit after some fails that day. The pumping station felt so much bigger than I expected it to be. The two Harland pumps are quite a scale as well, and looked really nice in the blue colour. We had some lovely light pouring in as well. The pump house originally built in 1928 and was used to cater for the village of Silver End which was a private village for the workers of Crittall Manufacturing company. The pumping station was built to provide water to the village as not to put a strain on nearby villages and towns like Braintree. The pumps were originally oil engines driven by belt feed. The pumps were replaced with electric ones after Essex Water Company took on the maintenance of the station.
The outside is quite unassuming and bland.
The electric cabinets looked great with the light coming through on them.
A few old newspapers dotted about.
It even had its own toilet and washroom.
A few shots taken on vintage lenses with Fuji in camera film recipes.
