Bramble Brook Lower Culvert
Following on from the modern section upstream near Kingsway (here), this is the nicer, older downstream section which begins somewhere near Slack Lane and ends up joining the culverted section of the Markeaton Brook at the end of Boredomiser near the Bass Recreation Ground. This section has always looked and sounded interesting as it’s quite old and long, but a leaky sewer line meant the smell always got a bit unbearable to venture too far in. Thankfully this leak has presumably been fixed as there was no unbearable smell this time.
Starting at the far end, this is as close to the infall as we could get really
Joining up with the section with a sewer line running through it. At the far end on the right the open sewer line could be seen
We follow the poo pipe for quite a distance now
Joining the more familiar section near the end of the Markeaton Brook
I'm sure folk have been all the way up here previously but it was nice to finally get all the way to the end regardless.
