I don't think I've visited an old racetrack before, so it was something a little different.
History
Opening for the first time in 1928, Brandon Stadium based just outside of Coventry was home to greyhound racing, stock car racing, banger racing and Motorcycle racing. During its time it saw number of large events including the Brandonapolis of 1954 which saw 24,000 people attend.
In 2003 the site was bought by Avtar Sandhu, a Tory Councillor for Dartford. When the site eventually closed in January 2016 it caused chaos as it was sudden and unexpected. The site was stripped bare of seating and fixtures and has been sat derelict ever since.
The Explore
I was up this was on a work related trip for a few day, so one evening I headed up to hear to have a nice chill wander about before sunset. I didn't have vast amounts of time before it got dark, but I managed to get a good hour or so round here. That said the site isn't that huge. I didn't really get inside many of the buildings, partly because some of them were well sealed up, but also because it seems the alarms worked and I couldn't be bothered with dealing with that. They were all empty and stripped out, so I don't think I missed out too much.
