So I always put this place off because I never really had solid evidence that it was still standing however, I saw a few photos pop up recently and decided that it was time to take an hours drive and check it out. I walked away from this location happy that I did.
HISTORY -
Not loads of history unfortunately..
Opened in 1937 and closed in 2017
It’s derelict because the building was put down as ‘not fit for use’ in 2016 and staff members were moved to the new modern police station about 3 minutes away. Since the building also contains asbestos there was no chance of it remaining open so it was closed down the following year. Plans to demolished the site for new homes was given the green light just after it closed.

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have security to be honest, despite being trashed it’s actually a really cool place. Access was easy and simple and we was not bothered the whole time we was here, even a local saw me on the roof and shouted “BE SAFE UP THERE” I was expecting them to call the police but didn’t.. as I said the building is trashed and burnt in some places, looks like homeless have been living here, one of the cells has been torched by what looks like people trying to keep warm.
Wandering around I knew that nothing apart from the cells was worth pictures.. it’s mostly empty rooms. I managed to gain access to the offices building and the old house, both of those are gutted out and ready for demolition. If anyone plans on going here then make it quick. I don’t think it’s going to be around much longer.
