VISITED WITH FOWLE
BRIDGEWATER PLACE
BRIDGEWATER PLACE
Thee tallest building in the whole of yorkshire!
First did this with Sammydoublewhammy a warl back but didnt post, then went up with MJS and let him post as his photos were blinders! Me and Fowle had a full night of trolling Leeds and was very early when we got up there. After doing the roof we thought we would have a walk round and try and find the lower roof areas and we had great success
The badboy was designed by Aedas Architects and built by Bovis (Not the bread makers thats Hovis)
At the very top....
It was first announced in 2000 and, following several redesigns and delays with the construction process, construction of the building began in 2004 and was completed in 2007. It became the tallest building in Yorkshire, by a significant margin (although this does not take into account crazy structures such as Emley Moor). Bridgewater Place has a height of 112 metres (367 ft) to roof level. Originally the tower was to have a spire which would have extended the height of the building to 137 metres (449 ft), however this was never built as Hovis, I mean Bovis ran out if yeast, I mean money....
Looking over to Candle House, aka the Pro-hobo Roof
Current office tenants include Eversheds (A shed makers?) , Ernst & Young, ghd, BDO Stoy Hayward and DWF LLP. Retail tenants include Tesco, Starbucks, Casa Mia, Panini Shack and Philpotts. The residential element of the development has proved to be one of the most prestige city centre addresses. Apartments in the development are currently letting through the letting agent owned by Jordan Yorath, brother of TV presenter Gabby Logan (Z listers eh...).
The atrium of Bridgewater Place hosts the 17.5 metre column sculpture called 'Hello Friends' by artists Bryan Davies and Laura Davies, which is tallest sculpture in Yorkshire.
Turns out this whole place could be Derped soon, the curved design of the building causes high wind (Saying that Fowle did do a massive fart at the top) and when it was mega windy the other month, it blow a lorry over killing some poor soul. Theres even talk of the company facing Corperate Murder charges. A small chance that it could be demolished but if it became derped?.......
OHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!
Cheers!
