Brief bit of history as they have been covered many many many times.
Opened in 1939, the shelters were the largest purpose-built civilian air raid shelters in the country designed to provide shelter for up to 3,850 people. They were extended in 1940-41 to accommodate 6,500.
3 different shelters dug into the sandstone in order of size
Chestergate which is a museum
Brinksway
Dodgehill
Visited with @Lissyfit for a quick something to do one night.
Was actually good to go back here after last going in them around 2008. Not much has changed, just a bit more shit graff and rubbish.
This was my entrance last time I was down here, now very sealed. Not that it would matter for me as I don't think I'd get down it now
