Report - Brunswick Tunnel & air raid shelter, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, March 2021

The Brunswick Tunnel was abandoned in 1862, then housed an air raid shelter during WW2. I've lived near this for 20 years and only just become aware of it! I took photos by lamplight and there's not much left of the air raid shelter but I had fun anyway!

Thanks for sharing your 1st post. And welcome to 28DL. Its surprising whats on our door step. All I would say is some more history would be welcome, and perhaps a little edit to your photos to get rid of the white bits.

Does it still smell of sewage when you get to the air raid shelter bit ? think there must be a burst pipe somewhere :/

It didn't smell of sewage but it was incredibly muddy and swampy with some red tinged standing water in areas.
