Bryn-Glas is a small slate quarry worked on two underground levels between 1901 and 1919. It was briefly worked again in the late 1950's /early 1960s.
The lower level consists of several small chambers linked by adits and three of these seem to have been worked up to the higher level though it is obvious the slab was not worked out.
A second entrance was created on the lower level when it was being re-worked in the 1960s.
Not a lot to see underground but there is some nice mineralisation.
Dressing shed on the mill level (lower level).
Also visible on the photo are the remains of a drum house and incline to bring slab down from the upper level. The tramway down to the road can just be seen dropping to the right. The upper level worked in from the other side of the hill.
View across to the Moelwyns
First chamber looking outbye
Second chamber
Third chamber
Third chamber worked up to upper level
Adit worked upwards to blind
A few examples of the mineralisation.
Upper level not visited on this occasion as there is little of particular interest and the weather was deteriorating rapidly
