Visited on a recent Scottish trip and stumbled across it entirely by accident whilst looking for something else - what a pleasant surprise it was! Wasn't sure where to post this but when doing some research stumbled across Speed's report which is in this section - so hope you will agree it's worthy..
The Mill was originally built in 1862 as a stocking shop for William Elliott and Sons. The Mill was quickly expanded and still contains a lot of early equipment. It has been known as lots of things over the years but is known locally as Sybil's, probably in reference to the current owner Sybil Howe who ran it as Sybil's Gentlemans Works and latterly GlenHowe Scotland from 1990 until around 2007. The Sewing Room looks like the workers stopped one day and just never returned - with half finished garments still on the machines. Some parts of the Mill have clearly been disused for years and some rooms are stacked from floor to ceiling with all sorts of cool stuff. I could have quite happily spent a day in here.
