Slowly sorting through my backlog of this years explores.
This is one of many from March this year from a small meet up and few days explore with people from all over the country (even one over from Germany). This report is made up of shots from a few trips I did there throughout the month.
Opened in 1983 the park almost lasted 3 decades before officially closing in 2012. I remember wanting to go here as a kid, until a family I knew went and told me it was one of the most disappointing places they had ever been to.
Between 1995 and 2005 the attendance dropped by a massive 160,000 people. The park also came joint bottom of a survey of healthy food in leading visitor attractions, scoring 1 point!... perhaps they felt pity for them and gave them 1 point due to the burgers having lettuce on?
Sadly not much remains there in the way of rides. The big rollercoaster is pretty impressive but a sod to get to because of security, this is where the guard seems to spend 90% of his time. Thankfully on one of the trips he was asleep in his car on the other side of the park so we got to have a look around the ghost train/marquee and spend a bit of time at the big coaster.
The mannequin graveyard is terrifying, that is if like me you have an irrational fear of mannequins (honestly, clothes shopping can me a nightmare!) but I sill braved it for a few shots.
I'll start with the Velvia shots as they were from the very first explore then add the digital ones below them.
