Report - Cameron House, Whittingham Asylum-Visited July 2008

Sqwasher & I had a few hours to kill on the way to Barrow In Furness for my 'keeper for a day' pressie. We wanted to call in at Whittingham on route, however, first we wasted far too long trying to access St Josephs in Preston. Much to our disappointment only external pics were possible & after being moved on by security we only had an hour or so remaining for Whittingham. With time limited we only explored Cameron House & externally viewed St Johns Chapel. We got as far as the water tower but alas had overstayed our time that day!

On with my pics...

First a couple of St Josephs....one for the future!

Onto Cameron House...

A useless window

One of the larger ground floor rooms

A view of a skylight that's not long for this world!

Using the old 'fingers filter' for effect

It’s hard walking quietly on here!

A rather appealing bath...mmm

From one end of the longest corridor that runs through the block

And from the opposite end

A ghostly (or ghastly!) curtain

Ok so I added my name but what the heck

We were surprised to see this intact
