Question - Can someone identify this?

Showing myself for the absolute hypocrite I am, found this in an abandoned farm/cottage. It was in what looked to be an animal pen of some sort but can’t figure out what it is.

Looking at the two sets of wires I wonder if it is a motor connected to the mains running a generator motor for reduced voltage.

Milking pump makes sense tbh considering it was in a stable type bit with pens for some sort of cattle. Thank you wormster.
