Report - Central Hidroletrica (Portugal, November 2023)

For hundreds of years we have been harnessing water as a way of creating power, and this power station is a perfect example of the principle at work. I'm no engineer so I'll leave the technical stuff at that!

Explored with @The_Raw and @Sids this was a location we were really keen on despite the long drive north. On arrival, the gates were open and we spotted some guys working at the far end of the site but didn't let that put us off. A stealthy entry and moderately challenging access and inside we were rewarded with a lovely pastel-coloured powerplant complete with a very tasty control room.

Loved this place. Access was a bit weird we also spent a while hurling core samples back into the river. Fun times.
