First I want to say that if I give the real name of this place, it's because it is now beeing demolished. The turbines are already stripped for the most part, asbestos is beeing removed, and they will start tearing down the structure anytime soon.
The two first units of this power plant were built in 1950, running on coal. Units 3 and 4 are put into operation in 1963 ans 1967, and the last 5th one is added in 1973.
After almost 50 years of service, units 1, 2 and 3 are shut down in 1998, but luckily not dismanteled.
In 2005 unit 4 is converted to biomass, wich was a world first at the time, and unit 5 is kept operational as reserve until 2013.
The power plant finally shut down in September 2020. Sadly it wasn't left to decay for long, as the dismanteling already started in June 2021.
Very soon after the shutdown, we made our way in this impressive structure.
