We visited this huge former ceramic/ brick factory in Montijo near Lisbon. I’m unable to find any history on the specific site, but the original company Cermon was founded in 1978, and it looks like it was overtaken by another company Cerâmica do Liz before the site was abandoned sometime in the early 1990s. We spent some time exploring the outside of the building complex, and then the large halls, with machinery, documents, clothes, and large stockpiles of materials still in place. We got a bit scared of footstep sounding noises inside so left a bit earlier than we wanted, but it was an exciting explore!
