Chester Cathedral is a Church of England Cathedral which is the mother church for the city of Chester diocese. The location has been used by the church in some form since ~900 AD, and the Cathedral, as well as the former monastical buildings on the site, are a grade 1 listed heritage site. Now a major tourist attraction, the cathedral looms over the rest of the cities relatively small buildings.
The cathedral has been undergoing long term renovations in fits and starts for the last couple of years, and an anxious eye has been kept on it hoping that a roof top access would one day present itself. As it turns out, it has. An absolute maze of scaffold coupled with spikey death fences and overtly wealthy curtain twitching neighbours made this climb one of the most fun I've had recently. Getting up close to the heights of the cathedral that myself and TheFlu24 have perved at for so long was even better
The obscenely photogenic flag pole was just a bonus...
Town hall adjacent
Gargoyles and spikey bits everywhere
Cheers for looking - Leaf
