Report - Chloeracca Culvert, Pant, Merthyr Tydfil - August 2020

Another local one that came off the backburner thanks to lockdown.

HISTORY

Very, very little unfortunately and I first noticed this one in a report by @cnhughes0 here - https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/overflow-abandoned-tunnel-may-2020.123258/

There appears to be absolutely nothing online apart from Chloe's report in relation to this one which is surprising considering the industrial history of Merthyr Tydfil and where this culvert is situated. It appears to have age and to have had repairs over the years but not many regular visitors. There are numerous other culverts and drains in the area (mostly smaller) which leads us to believe that this culvert (and the others) would have had something to do with the Dowlais Ironworks as there are still a number of feeder ponds in the area which the Ironworks used.

Visited with a non member and given the name Chloeracca, an amalgamation of the discoverer and the area it is in.
