Visited with the usual Bennys...
Started with what was probably a locomotive shed, but was now used for storing old casting patterns...
Then a walk around the ore preparation plant and workshops...
and the iron ore conveyor control room...
and then we followed the conveyor up a monster tower, over a mesh floor over some stinking water and rotting iron hulks...
From the top of the tower...
In one of the sheds...
The sign from the bottom of the water tower, since used as a chimney...
A soundproof control room in the structure somewhere...
Pipes...
Next, a storeroom, with soom interesting brochures and records...
And then over to the finishing shed. Like templeborough, but with a bit more left. And the fact that it's still standing.
Rail bogies just piled up...
The shed...
Casting patterns...
Big metal things...
Funky looking overhead crane. Nobody had been in these for a long time...
The shed...
Next, we found the electrical stores. A small forge and workshop area downstairs...
and then three floors of spares, still there.
Some old paperwork...
An old telex machine...
Some tell-tale light bulbs...
Documents in the stores offices...
and some technical drawings still on the table...
There's still lots more to see here as well. Will definitely be back.
