Clariant Chemical Works
Myself and Squirrell set out to take a look around this place, as it's virtually on his doorstep
From the aerial pic it promised to be an epic site, however sadly it was far from it
2 of the potentially more interesting buildings have long since been demolished, the pikeys have stripped out anything useful that remained
It was worth a look, but tbh unless your inspired by a 4 hour Derp then I would recommend you spend your time elsewhere in search of better stuff
Some History:
The site in Leeds/Horsforth was a designated Textile, Leather and Paper site, although products from other businesses were manufactured there
Formed in 1995 as a spin off from the chemical company Sandoz
It was the main driver for the research, development, production and marketing of Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs, FWAs) world-wide
The site finally closed down in 2008, resulting in the loss of 270 jobs
Harrow Estates have since accquired the entire area (32 acres) as part of a compulsary purchse. This includes the nearby Colourflex Dyeworks and Riverside Mills
The first batch of pics are from the following 3 buildings
The next few from the large warehouse/storage depot
This only remaining feature left within the Auxillary buildings (This was right opposite the security lodge)
