One from my back catalogue. I know it has been covered alot before, but I am trying to add my contributions. I love the search for a place, then the explore. Im not much of a photographer, but here are my photos anyway.
Cliff fort is a disused artillery fort built in the 1860s on the Hoo Peninsula. Its location on marshy ground caused problems, and the lower levels are submerged.
The fort saw 60 yrs of usage, from 1870 til 1927. Today is it derelict and decayed. and unaccessible to the public.
The fort was designed by by Captain Siborne , the same man who designed Shoremead and Coalhouse point. The fort is currently owner by owned by Brett Aggregates and its surrounding area. Though Brett Aggregates have done nothing with it and its left to rot. The Fort is on the "Heritage at Risk" register." structurally sound, but severe damage to parts.
The explore: It was a long walk, and a water front footpath trek. But overall was a pleasant walk about.
