So, my second successful trip!! This place is so easy to find, just off the A24 in Capel. Security is obviously active here, seeing as on the way past to park the car the police were coming out and whilst we were in there more security turned up to do a patrol, however we managed to carry on without being spotted! Note to self, wear better shoes next time... very wet trying to get in, especially seeing as the acsess point a friend had used on her previous visit was now no more, which meant we had to find a new route to get in!
History:
The Clock House Brick Company Ltd was founded in 1933 to exploit a rich deposit of high-quality Weald Clay to the south of the Surrey village of Capel. It is a site for palentological and sedimentological research covering an area of 32.4 hectares. The impact on the site was discussed when Capel village was selected as a possible site for a thermal waste disposal (incinerator) site.
