Hi all, a few weeks ago i posted a thread about a visit my friend and i made to the old Co-op building in Hull. Well today we returned there to take some more pictures and share them with you all.
The nightclub closed down in 1991 much of it to do with the rising drug problem that was giving the place a bad reputation.
The main building which was part of the Co-op group when it opened was various shop departments throughout all the floors, all the shop floors were decorated very grand, with marble walls and fancy hard wood floors and polished brass and mahogony adorning the doors and wall and stairs, sadly over time the co-op closed and the building became used as rather elaborate market with cheap fashions and other items. the top part of the building (the nightclub) had over the years plied its trade under a variety of names and was very successful under all of them but come 1991 the end came and the place closed its doors to the outside world.
the place became forgotten about and the windows eventually got bricked up and in moved the pikies and out moved the copper etc...
The place has been cleared out some what since i last got in there 2 years ago but it smells of pigeons and piss and it is still a wrecked dump. Anight visit would be good.
But anyway enough of the waffle yawn yawn... hope you like the pics
Please correct my history if any of it is wrong it all from memory..
