This place is genuinely stunning and easily worth a good few hours exploring. Very empty and delapidated but the combination of retro architecture, amazing graffiti and a few relics of days when it was operational made this a really intriguing spot.
History
The factory was founded by Robert Sandford as the Torridge Vale Dairy and Butter Factory in 1874, but by 1932 the company had been absorbed by the Cow and Gate company. Most of the structures you see nowadays were built post WW2. Then around the mid 1970s the factory was taken over by Dairy crest and was abandoned in 1993 after a fire destroyed the drying plant.
