I've had an itch that needed scratching for a while, that itch was to get back underground, i've not bothered doing any underground stuff for a while, a mixture of CBA and the thought of losing my new camera to some river of fresh means it's been derps only for a while.
Anyway a day off meant it was time go introduce the new Nikon for the underground world, i love the old stone culverts running through these old cotton towns, so much character and usually lots of changes in shape, these both carry the Swinnel Brook water course.

These particular two were as far as i know first explored and named by Chewy waaaay back, an enjoyable wander they were too.

I dropped in here at the infall, a nice arch approx 5 ft at most.
A straight old stone arch section continued a while.
Around the corner was stoopier section of concrete box.
Changing back to Brick/Stone
And a short section leading to the outfall.
A little further down steam in the infall for another culverted section, access should of been simple, although somewhat blocked and a shortish 3 ft drop, as with most of the culverts like this it was slippy as fook leading to a less than dignified entry, luckily i'd packed my gear away and no harm done

After a short section this opens into a lovely 6 ft stone arch
There's a few twists along the way and it's deeper than i expected in places considering the lack of rain recently.
