Just a bunch of local stuff, none of them report worthy on their own, or anything amazing for that matter. But it's something to scroll through during lockdown right?

Kingsway Asylum Farm - Derby

The last 1888 original building left from the Derby Borough Asylum. Not sure why it wasn't demolished with the rest of the hospital in 2011 but looks pretty left for dead right now.

RAF Tatenhill, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire

These buildings are situated across the road from Tatenhill Airfield. I think there used to be quite a bit more to see nearer the airfield itself, but the more interesting bits were demolished a few years back now.

Some Corpse graff hiding away

Abandoned House, Marchington, Staffordshire

Small bungalow hidden in some trees. No history and nothing noteworthy apart from a nice red Nova Saloon in the garage.

The Rock House / First Floor / Supernova Nightclub - Derby

Had some good nights here during the 00's! Been through a few incarnations in its lifetime but best known as The Rock House. Been closed since 2009 and is currently being turned into flats so unfortunately completely stripped inside.

Oakwell Brickworks - Ilkeston, Derbyshire

The only remaining bit of the brickworks is the Hoffman Kiln which is buried in woodland and surrounded by a palisade fence. This type of kiln was patented by Friedrich Hoffman in 1858 and there are several examples remaining, including this badly neglected example which is Grade II listed.

Rock House Farm - Ashley, Staffordshire

Generic roadside derp in the tiny village of Ashley near the Cheshire boarder.

The Mitre - Allenton, Derby

Big mock tudor pub built in 1930 for Zachary Smith's Shardlow Brewery. One of them places where security would arrive out of nowhere and eyeball you just for walking around the outside. They even arrived out of the blue and bollocked me for climbing around on it once. Recently all the metal sheeting and security doors vanished, so it's probably not long for this world and I couldn't resist a peek. I think I left it a bit too late!

Navigating this one was fun

The Asterdale - Spondon, Derby

Former British Celanese social club, the grounds of which are still used for sports training.

And there we have it. Thanks for looking, stay safe!

Whilst the Hoffman isn't great it is unusual in having some of it's roof intact (I use that term loosely!)
Only went to see that witha couple of friends who were up in the area for a day but noticed there were quite a few other little interesting bits...like another kiln...in the area so perhaps a revisit next time I have reson to be nearby.

Which buildings at Tatenhill? The BHQ and 25 yard range are still there as well as a few of the smaller pyro stores buildings. Opposite side of the road there is a Combined bombing teacher & turret trainer down a track (not many of them left) .....opposite that another building but I don't recall what it was. Along the road on the airfield side there used to be quite a few buildsings (pretty much all uninteresting TB structures) but they seemed to have a sudden purge on those around eight or ten years ago. Back to opposite side and there were a few oddments on the technical site but not much unless you walk beyond the race track and enter Stanton Shelter City...beyond that a decontamination centre, blast shelters and a few other bits and bobs. Really ought to go back and see what is still left there and at Ashborne as they were amongst the firsat airfield sites I surveyed a longgggg time ago.

Low angle and tall ceiling make that fireplace shot rather nice.

Interesting little collection ;)

@tigger this bit specifically at Tatenhill: 52°49'26"N 1°45'04"W

There is a large cluster of stuff in that field, including two 'tower' type bits although some of it has been turned into a chicken farm or similar!

And interesting re Ilkeston brickworks, I should look harder in future haha

Nice collection there. Surprising what shots we collect and never post as reports. Lots of back cats coming out. Nice job:thumb

That red Nova is lovely, still seems in good condition too. Worth good money now, someone should really see if they can track down whoever owns the place these days and try and buy it off them, give it a good home, before another rare classic is gone forever.

Some great shots there of some quite predominant places.

I had a c reg nova saloon in red, they are fetching good money now. To start you should be able to find some sort of ownership through a land search. Ive heard of people applying to the DVLA for a logbook and just towing them away but I feel that's wrong.

Having a logbook doesn't prove ownership so that is totally wrong. If you apply for a logbook the actual owner gets notified about it for a start!

Yes, DVLA send a letter to the registered address saying someone has applied for the logbook. If the registered owner doesn't reply in somthing like 2 weeks it's deemed legit by the DVLA and they send out a new v5.
The registered address is usually the one in tatters so no owner to get the letter.
Correct the v5 is not proof of ownership but it still happens and in fact ive remembered I have done it myself, someone abandoned a corsa at my mates garage and I wanted a car to block a gateway off so I applied for the log book, paid somthing like £20 and claimed the car. The details were checked by the police many times over the 15 years it stood there and the subject of legality never came up.
I know for fact it happens regularly with people banger racing abandoned cars as well as the local scrap yard and the cars left outside, they can't scrap abandoned cars so they apply for the v5 and it's deemed adequate to forfill legal requirements.
