The outfall of this CSO is situated on a secluded bank of the river Croal. About 10 metres of RCP takes us to a small brick inspection chamber.
The tunnel is brick from here. After about 200 metres there is a circular brick chamber containing 2 RCP dropshafts.
Above this chamber is a circular concrete structure consisting of 5 more levels, all of which can be accessed with ladders.
Looking up to the 3rd level from the 2nd.
View up to the 6th level and a narrow shaft leading to a manhole cover.
Up here are 2 slits through which can be seen the top of the RCP dropshafts. The sound of flowing water and misty air indicates that the overflow chamber is nearby. Unfortunately it cannot be accessed from here without considerable difficulty.
