This swimming pool has recently been replaced my a more up-to-date multi purpose building, with a larger pool, gym(s), and all manner of fancy stuff! Ive yet to set foot in it actually......
I used to come to this pool as a little nipper, and can remember raiding the vending machines for the last packet of Space Raiders. Back when 50p peices were huge! I used to come here for school swimming lessons too.
Anyway....
Over 6 months ago, some fellow 28DL members made it into the local rag (link can be found here) after a little visit/report.
We had seen that a demolition has since commenced, but halted soon after. The building has now been sat half demolished for a good few days now, and leaves a very interesting sight!
The pool is situated next to the River Nith which runs through the centre of town, but the building itself is slighty obscured by trees, making it not as much of an eyesore as you'd think.
I didnt get as many pics as id hoped, but the ones i did take came out well...
