I have known about this place for around 6 or 7 years, but I never visited because I was told that an angry farmer would come after me! A few months ago, a friend informed me that this wasn’t the case and that you could walk right up to it from the footpath.
Fast forward to now: my daughter, who is almost 5, asked if we could go on an adventure to find some pillbox or ruins. I remembered this particular site, so we jumped in the car, parked by the footpath, and walked down to the well-trodden route leading to the chain home.
When we arrived, I noticed how graffitied and burnt out it was, and how quiet it felt). We had a quick look around and even chatted with a local who mentioned that kids often hang out there as it’s a popular spot for them. Luckily, we must have gone on a good day, as no one was around.
