Some of you may remember my report from the "gauntlet" of an explore in the number one engine hall a couple of years ago. Knowing fine well that the second engine hall had stunning tilework Speed and I decided to swing past on our north west roadtrip and have a pop at it...
Things are changing here, much of the mill complex is in use and what is not is bricked up tight. A chance meeting with the mill's caretaker got us in one mill I have not been in before by knocking down a wall for us:crazy! This gave us access to the water tower, but he claimed the engine hall was sealed tight... how wrong he was!
The hall was stunning, there must have been 20 different designs of tiles in there! Sadly the roperace stairs were long gone but gazing up at it from the engine pit was more than enough for me!!
