From 1976 to 1982 the chief of police in Mexico City was a man called Arturo Moreno Durazo.
During his reign he converted the Mexico City police force into a racketeering empire and, although officially earning less than $1000 USD per month, he amassed an amount of wealth that most people can and will only dream of.
A collection of classic cars, properties in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the property in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero that became known as “El Partenón del Negro Durazo” (The Parthenon of the black Durazo) - a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece.
