Introduction
One from the backlog that me and @JakeV50 visited a while back. It was nice to see something different, as this is unlike our usual stuff, we were expecting a little more but was still a nice stop off nevertheless.
Information & History
Eyebrook Reservoir is a Site of Special Scientific Interest that covers 201 hectares. The reservoir and surrounding area is an important site for certain species of birds, wildflowers and plants. The reservoir is a popular fishing location thanks to its stock of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Pike. The Reservoir was built in 1937 to supply Corby Steelworks with water and in World War II, the site was a target practise by 617 Squadron in prep for the Dambusters raid.
The overflow was constructed alongside the reservoir to help regulate water levels. The water runs from Eye Brook, a tributary to the River Welland, and down the concrete spillway before passing through a round tunnel/pipe and then into the inlet.
Explore
A nice relaxed one this was, but a long walk if I remember correctly. According to the newest report on this site by Mr Budge, some sort of cheap alarm has been added to a small hut beside the spillway, which must be a new addition.

Thanks for looking.
