Visited this one today, with Bryag, we'd already seen the Control Tower (here http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=23035&highlight=fearn)
And also the dispersals (here http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=24296&highlight=fearn )
So this was next on the list
It was a good site, plenty to see, although it was a bit trashed, and nature was taking over.
Into the accomodation:
Rather a nice wee fireplace:
Kitchen block:
Looking out - nearly all the water-tanks were still in these towers:
We found the showers:
And the loos - Royal Doulton too, posh
General view of some of the buildings:
Then we found the Mess:
Great to see the murals still there
Then onto the decontamination block:
This had "squat-type" loos - never seen these in the UK before:
Outside of the decontamination block:
We found the First-Aid block - looked rather an uncomfortable waiting room:
This would be a welcome sight after sitting on that concrete:
Nature was really taking over:
Remains of a Nissen Hut - shows the construction, as explained in to us by The Fox in a previous post
The destruction on this was rather random again, no roof on this building, but the hot-water tank still there :crazy
Still, the locals were friendly
A good explore, finding those murals made it for me!
