10 Bedroom Victorian Manor with 1 acre of grounds with a coach house residing in a residential area of South Manchester, currently been vacant for a number of years, has been had at by taggers, firebugs and probably numerous curious explorers. Upon arrival i was quick to notice the cctv turret at the front of the premises so i steered well clear and back from its field of vision and proceeded to the rear of the building. The coach house was pretty empty barring a few fridges and old gas stove, paving flags etc. The house contained a few original light and socket fixtures, and fireplaces. Some firebugs have had their fun so the third floor was not viable to reach as the stairs were too frail to climb. Basement was full of sand oddly and looked like someone was almost half dug a ‘grave’ in the basement… weird. I think the few B&W photos really do set the mood of the place. House is now on the market,
£1.5 Million! Former residents include Lord Mayor of Manchester, Sir James Hoy, who lived in the house for over 20 years. Despite it being almost 150 years old, Fern Cliff is somewhat of a time warp - having managed to retain many of its original 1869 fittings, such as intricate stain-glassed windows and elaborate tiles, however as mentioned a lot of things have been damaged and trashed now but the building itself is beautiful in its own right.
